I Wasn't the Topper

Back in 2002, I was just another graduate trying to figure out life. I wasn't a rank holder. I wasn't a coding genius. I wasn't the student everyone expected to succeed. Like many freshers, I was confused, anxious about placements, and unsure how I would build a career. I had an education loan to repay, very little confidence, and absolutely no idea what Application Management Services (AMS) or SAP even meant.

Yet, through hard work, guidance, and a willingness to keep learning, I landed my first opportunity with the B.K. Birla Group. That single opportunity changed my life.

A Journey That Took Me Around the World

Over the next 22+ years, I built my career in Application Management Services (AMS), working with some of the world's leading organizations, including:

Along the way, I worked on 60+ global enterprise projects, supported international clients, solved real business problems, collaborated with teams across different countries, and learned lessons that no textbook could ever teach. These experiences showed me what companies actually expect from freshers—and it's often very different from what colleges teach.

Why I Started AMSSlate

Throughout my career, I met hundreds of students and fresh graduates.Most of them were hardworking.Most were eager to learn.But almost all of them had the same questions:

• "What exactly happens in an AMS project?"
• "Can I get into IT if I'm not a coding expert?"
• "Why didn't anyone teach us these practical skills in college?"

The truth is simple.Most colleges prepare students to pass exams.Companies expect graduates who understand real projects, business communication, ticketing tools, IT processes, and workplace expectations.There's a huge gap between education and employment.
